T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas – Heavyweight contender Zhang Zhilei (24-0-1, 19 KOs) crushed Scott Alexander (16-5-2, 8 KOs) in one round, with a one-punch knockout. (photos by Ed Mulholland)
Alexander was a late replacement for Filip Hrgovic, who withdrew due to his father’s recent passing.
Alexander was jabbing to the gut for most of the round and circling around the ring. But then out of nowhere, Zhilei landed a big shot right down the pipe, which cracked the chin of Aleander and sent him down hard on his back.
The referee quickly waved off the fight as Alexander was not capable of getting up.
