Tonight at 9 pm ET live on Showtime, ShoBox: The New Generation returns with a tripleheader from the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn., headlined by a 10-round junior middleweight bout between unbeaten prospects Charles Conwell and Wendy Toussaint.
Conwell, 22, was a U.S. Olympian in 2016, and is the more highly-regarded of the two prospects, but Toussaint, 28, is an interesting fighter himself, and could be a sleeper here. At 6’0”, Toussaint will have a notable height advantage, and the Haitian-American has looked like a patient, solid fighter thus far in his pro career, though he hasn’t faced much by way of competition. Conwell is a big step up for him.
The show will also feature a pair of eight-round fights at welterweight. In one, Janelson Figueroa Bocachica, a 21-year-old from Detroit, will face 24-year-old Puerto Rican Nicklaus Flaz. In the TV opener, 21-year-old Brandun Lee, who headlined a ShoBox in March, will face 34-year-old veteran Jimmy Williams.
