When and why you started boxing:
I started boxing when I was 15 years old. I was hit over the head with a wooden stick, so I needed to learn self-defence. I did kickboxing at first and then progressed to boxing.
Favourite all-time fighter:
Aside from myself, it’d have to be Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard and Mike Tyson.
Best fight you’ve seen:
The first fight between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin stands out for me. It was the best meeting the best.
Personal career highlight:
My highlight so far is my first fight with Hennessy Sports [in August last year]. I won with a sick body-shot KO [in the opening round against Josh Hodgins].
Toughest opponent:
I learnt plenty by sparring with Billy Joe Saunders. He’s the toughest opponent that I’ve shared a ring with.
Best and worst attributes as a boxer:
My best attributes are that I’m confident, cocky, arrogant and good looking. I haven’t got any bad attributes!
Training tip:
Hard work will always win.
Favourite meal/restaurant:
My favourite meals? I’ve got three actually – macaroni and cheese, steak, and fish and chips.
Best friends in boxing:
The fans are my best friends in the sport.
Other sportsperson you would like to be:
I’d be Lewis Hamilton because he’s absolutely fearless.
Last film/TV show you saw:
The last show that I watched was Suits.
Who would play you in a film of your life:
I’d pick Michael B. Jordan to play me. I’d love to be in Creed III with him.
Have you ever been starstruck:
I’ve never been starstruck.
Last time you cried:
I can’t remember the last time that I cried to be honest.
Best advice received:
Always be yourself.
Worst rumour about yourself:
There are no rumours – only facts.
Something not many people know about you:
I love comedy and I’d love to be an actor.
