It’s just about time to put up or shut up for Geroge Kambosos Jr, who takes on unified lightweight titleholder Teofimo Lopez in this weekend’s Triller main event. Kamobos hasn’t shown any lack of confidence as he goes into the biggest fight of his professional career, and tells ESPN that he and his team have spotted the holes in Lopez’s game and have developed a game plan to take full advantage.
“There’s a lot of holes in his game, and we have come up with a great game plan to pinpoint [those] holes and make this kid look very very silly,” Kambosos told ESPN. “He relies on his power; he relies on three or four continuous shots.”
Kambosos would continue by saying that he’s a well-rounded fighter who has all the aspects to his fight game and will use whatever he needs to adapt to the situation at hand during the fight. But with Lopez coming off a huge win over Vasiliy Lomachenko his confidence is at an all-time high as well, and Kambosos is looking to bring something different to the table as he’s in the position as the hungry underdog who has nothing to lose.
As far as Kambosos is concerned, he believes this is a true 50/50 fight this weekend even though he expects Lopez will be overlooking him towards more marquee fights. Kambosos has said all the right things leading into this fight, now it’s time to see if he can stand behind those woulds and bring them to fruition.
