Former super middleweight world champion boxer James DeGale has revealed that his Olympic gold medal and MBE were stolen from his parents’ home on Sunday night.

According to DeGale, the crime took place during England’s Euro 2020 defeat to Italy.

The British boxer won the gold medal at the Beijing Olympics in 2008.

There was some video footage, which showed the alleged burglar entering the home of DeGale’s parents.

“My parent’s house got burgled last night whilst our boys were trying to bring it home! He took two of my prize possessions- my Olympic gold medal and my MBE. They are worthless to anyone other than me and they are two achievements that I prize from my boxing career,” DeGale stated.

“I am gutted and need my medals back. Can anyone help by reporting any information you have? Please share far and wide.”

The 35-year-old boxer retired in February 2019 after losing a twelve round unanimous decision to Chris Eubank Jr at the O2 Arena.

During his pro run, he capture the IBF super middleweight title on two occasions. He won the title for the first time in 2015, with a twelve round decision over Andre Dirrell. He lost the belt to Caleb Truax in a huge upset in 2017, but reclaimed the strap in their rematch the following year.
