Tonight at 7 pm ET on pay-per-view, Triller Fight Club return with their most abominable offering yet, featuring 58-year-old Evander Holyfield in the main event against 44-year-old former MMA star Vitor Belfort in what may or may not be an exhibition bout.
We’ll have live updates, “highlights,” and full coverage in this stream:
The latest reports are that Triller, the promoters of the event, will respect whatever Holyfield’s call is. The Florida commission have been ready to sanction it as a pro fight that counts on records and all that, but whatever the end decision is on that, Triller say the fight will be scored and treated like a normal pro bout anyway.
The same probably goes for the bout between David Haye and Joe Fournier, which also wasn’t listed on BoxRec, then was, now isn’t, just like Holyfield-Belfort. Since this holds basically no sway in PPV sales, this seems likely to settle as an exhibition that won’t count on either of their glorious pro records.
As for two fully sanctioned, fully real fights, we’ll see a pair of 46-year-old MMA legends, Tito Ortiz and Anderson Silva, duke it out in a fight where Ortiz missed weight on Friday, plus an actual, honest to goodness, normal, well-matched fight between junior lightweights Andy Vences and Jono Carroll, two veteran fighters who need a win.
