With Chris Eubank scheduled to return to the ring this weekend against Anatoli Muratov in Wembley on Saturday, Eubank Jr says wants to show off some of the new improvements he’s made under the tutelage of Roy Jones Jr, as he relates to Sky Sports.
“You saw a little taster of things to come in my fight with Marcus Morrison. But there is a lot more. As each fight comes you will see more improvements, more things that you haven’t seen from me in the past.”
Eubank would say that he didn’t know exactly what to expect when he showed up to first train with the legendary Hall of Famer, but said he very quickly realized that training with Jones was exactly where he needed to be to get to the next level of development. But despite Eubank facing Muratov this weekend, the fight he says he’s truly looking forward to is one against Gennadiy Golovkin.
“That fight could have been made years back but didn’t happen. We now have the opportunity to get the fight made. We will get it done within the next six months. Styles make fights, it couldn’t be anything other than epic.”
Stylistically, Eubank would seem to be correct that the style matchup between Golovkin and himself shouldn’t be anything less than explosive, and with Eubank now 32 years old he appears to acknowledge that now is the time for him to get the big names in the ring with him as he mentions these are his last few years in the sport.
