Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller (23-0-1) has resumed training.
The former heavyweight contender has joined forces with world class trainer Kevin Cunningham and is working at his South Florida training facility.
His last ring appearance was back in 2018 when he stopped Bogdan Dinu in 4 rounds in Kansas.
He infamously missed out on a nearly $5 million payday in 2019 for a fight against then unified champion Anthony Joshua due to multiple failed tests for performance enhancing drugs.
In 2020 he signed a co-promotional deal with Top Rank but was released when he failed another test for a banned substance prior to his scheduled July 9th promotional debut against Jerry Forrest. Top Rank released Miller shortly thereafter.
Cunningham said Miller is doing everything by the book and promised that he won’t have any more issues.
“Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller’s skillset is second to no other heavyweights in boxing. I’ll help him take things to another level from a skill and technique standpoint. Everybody that knows me, knows that I’m a straight shooter and above board with everything I do. Big Baby has assured me that he’s following all commission protocols to rectify his past situation. I’ve always believed in second chances,” Cunningham told BoxingScene.com.
According to Cunningham, Miller is hoping to return to action early in 2022 in a meaningful fight. If he is successful, Cunningham would like to see him fight a top level opponent in his next ring appearance.
