EBU welterweight champ David Avanesyan (28-3-1) will, according to the EBU, make a voluntary defense of the title against Finnish boxer Oskari Metz (15-0) on a Queensberry Promotion sometime in March with a site to be announced.
Metz is ranked # 11 by the EBU and this is by far the biggest fight of his career.
Avanesyan vs Metz is potentially to be a part of a big show headlined by WBC heavyweight champ Tyson Fury.

The Edis Tatli vs Gianluca Cegli fight for the vacant EBU lightweight title is off again after Tatli pulled out.
Ceglia will now fight the highest ranked available challenger with the winner to fight Tatli.

Former WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF and IBO female welterweight champ Cecilia Braekhus (36-2) will continue her career, reports her main sponsor Betsson and VG.
Braekhus, who is currently in Chicago, will reunite with Jonathon Banks as coach and resume her career at super welter. She suffered back to back losses to Jessica McCaskill and claims making the weight limit of 147 drained her.
The by now 40-year-old Norwegian says a major title fight is on the horizon.

The fight for the vacant EBU heavyweight title between Agit Kabayel (21-0 or 23-2) and former cruiserweight beltholder Marco Huck (42-5-1) is in a “waiting position” reports SES in a press release.
The fight – a good candidate for German fight of the year – is now expected to go ahead during the spring at a major venue. However, the current restrictions, related to COVID-19, must go away before any major promotions can be staged.
