Casino Miami Jai Alai, Miami, Florida – For the WBA “regular” heavyweight title, Daniel Dubois (18-1, 17 KOs) broke down and knocked out previously unbeaten Trevor Bryan (22-1, 15 KOs) in the fourth round.
In the first round, Dubois came out firing and Bryan was taking some shots from the start. Dubois was using a stiff jab and applying a lot of pressure on Bryan, who was moving back and looking for something to counter with. Bryan was not throwing much back and was mostly being defensive.
During the second, Bryan was trying to box a little more. Dubois was staying patient, but still throwing the heavier punches. In the third, Dubois came charging out with a right hand. Dubois was jabbing well, with Bryant able to get away from the bigger punches. Dubois rocked Bryan with a big hook. He then jumped on Bryan with a variety of punches. Bryan was able to weather the storm.
They were jabbing at each other in the fourth. Dubois landed a solid hook that shook Bryan for a moment. Bryan was holding often. Dubois was landing big shots that sent Bryan crashing to the mat. He struggled to get up and the fight was waved off.
