Boxing TV schedule for Sept. 12

Fighting

Saturday, Sept. 12

ESPN+, 2:00 pm ET, Anthony Yarde vs Dec Spelman, Mark Heffron vs Denzel Bentley. Or at least it should be streaming on ESPN+, though it’s not listed by ESPN yet, and they did miss one recent Warren show, so we’ll see. But I expect it’ll be there. Yarde is looking to tune up for Lyndon Arthur by … fighting the guy Lyndon Arthur beat on July 31. Nice for Spelman to get another paycheck, though. Heffron-Bentley is a nice middleweight matchup, and we’ve also got heavyweight Nathan Gorman trying to bounce back against Richard Lartey, and welterweight prospect Ekow Essuman against the tough Cedrick Peynaud. BLH will have live coverage.

ESPN+, 7:30 pm ET, Egidijus Kavaliauskas vs Mikael Zewski, Miguel Marriaga vs Joet Gonzalez, Andrew Cancio vs Saul Rodriguez. A quantity-over-quality card in some ways, but Kavaliauskas-Zewski could be fun, and Marriaga-Gonzalez has some sleeper potential, I think. Kavaliauskas is rarely in a bad fight — it takes a Ray Robinson-level spoiler to get there — and the co-feature is a chance for Gonzalez to prove some quality against Marriaga, an eternal fringe contender. Cancio is usually fun, too, plus there will be more on the undercard with the prospect parade. BLH will have live coverage.
