Showtime Boxing is back tonight at 9 pm ET with a three-fight card from the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, with Erickson Lubin and Terrell Gausha meeting in the 12-round main event, a WBC junior middleweight title eliminator.
Wil Esco will be here with round by round coverage of all three fights, plus results as they come in.
The winner of tonight’s bout between the 24-year-old Lubin and 33-year-old Gausha will be right in line to challenge the winner of next weekend’s Charlo-Rosario unification fight, which could produce a three-belt owner, as the WBC, WBA, and IBF titles are all on the line in that bout.
Lubin is the favorite on the books and with our staff, but the ex-Olympian Gausha has said repeatedly he really likes this style matchup for himself. Will Lubin more fully erase the memory of his 2017 loss to Jermell Charlo, or will he trip up in a step up once again?
We’ll also see a 10-round featherweight bout between Tugstsogt Nyambayar, a serious contender and a former Olympic silver medalist, and short notice opponent Cobia Breedy in a WBC featherweight eliminator, plus top welterweight prospect Jaron “Boots” Ennis in a catchweight bout (not meant to be) against Juan Carlos Abreu, who’s never been stopped.
