Boxing fans can be so fickle. He’s lost and now they’re acting like Lomachenko still isn’t a great. Loma could request a rematch or go back down. He has lots of options. Lopez has always said he goes up and there’s some great fights for him. Everyone will want to derail that train.

If I was Lomachenko I would desperately try and to get the return. His legacy could do with avenging that loss. However, if I was Lopez I would be looking to move up to 140lbs and try to become a multi-division king. Fighting the Josh Taylor-Jose Ramirez winner would be huge.

Rematch. I thought Lopez won clearly so I don’t believe he’s in any way obliged to offer it but a rematch would be massive. But if Lopez has outgrown 135lbs then he’ll have to move up and Lomachenko will have a problem as the Lopez rematch will be the only fight he’ll want.

Lopez just completed lightweight so a move up is a must. A fight against the winner of Taylor-Ramirez fight would be colossal. For Loma: Gervonta Davis, Mikey Garcia at lightweight; Shakur Stevenson and Miguel Berchelt at super-feather. Selfishly, I hope we see him again.
