Tonight streaming live on DAZN (8 pm ET), Golden Boy returns with a card from Indio, Calif., featuring the return of Jaime Munguia in the main event, as the former 154-pound titlist takes on Tureano Johnson in a 12-round middleweight main event.
Munguia will be the favorite here, as the unbeaten 24-year-old from Tijuana looks to go to 2-0 on the year in his move up to 160 pounds. But the 36-year-old Johnson will definitely have designs on an upset, just like he pulled in his last fight when he beat Jason Quigley and took his “0” in July 2019.
There is a minor WBO title on the line in this fight, so it would seem Munguia is setting his sights on the WBO’s 160-pound title for the moment, after having held their 154-pound title. The current WBO middleweight titlist is Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade, who hasn’t vacated or given a sense that he intends to, but is planning to test the waters at 168 in his next fight on Nov. 27.
