A highly-anticipated British heavyweight showdown is now in the books, as Joe Joyce stopped Daniel Dubois in the 10th round of their fight in Westminster, pushing himself closer to a world title opportunity, and reality checking the rise of young Dubois a bit.
Dubois (15-1, 14 KO) has plenty of time to bounce back, and for Joyce (12-0, 11 KO) this is a massive win, giving him the European, British, and Commonwealth heavyweight titles. His jab was the key difference, as you’ll see noted by many — because it was so obvious, obviously, and even scored the KO blow when Dubois went down early in the 10th and just did not answer the referee’s count.
Everyone in the British boxing game, at the very least, was tuned in for this one, so there’s a lot to see from their reactions on social media:
Absolutely chuffed to bits for the Juggernaut @JoeJoyceBoxing tonight after being deemed as the underdog all through the build up. Well gone big man

Joyce is one hard man. Not talking about the punches but the ones he took and just kept coming… big win that

You’ve gotta question Dubois heart, he got hit back and didn’t like it, then stayed down there an didn’t wanna beat the count, well done Joe Joyce you big hard c**t

Great fight and Joe Joyce proved many wrong, me included. Much more than an unbelievable chin and engine. I also think Dubois can come back and win a world title #DuboisJoyce
