Hughie Fury has vowed that he will take over the heavyweight division ahead of his fight with Polish giant Mariusz Wach on Saturday.
Fury (24-3, 14 KOs) faces Wach (36-6, 19 KOs) at the SSE Arena at Wembley in London, on the undercard of Anthony Joshua’s world title defence of the WBA, IBO, IBF, WBO belts against Kubrat Pulev, live on Sky Sports Box Office and DAZN.
In his last outing, back in December of last year, Wach fought to a competitive ten round decision loss to Dillian Whyte.
It gives Fury the chance to overcome a former world title challenger, and he insists he’ll be challenging for world titles again himself before too long.
He wants to make a big statement – preferably by knocking out Wach.
“I believe I’m ready for these fights. I’m very confident and I’ve been working hard. It’s going to be a good fight. Wach hasn’t fought anybody like me, and I’m looking forward to it.
“I can box him or knock him out. I believe in myself truly. The main thing is getting the win and putting a show on. I believe I belong at world level and I’m going to take over. Mark my words,” Fury said.
Wach, who faced the very best opponents in his career like Wladimir Klitschko, Alexader Povetkin, Jarell Miller and several others, feels confident that he can handle Fury.
“I’ve had all these opponents say this before. I’m in some of the best shape of my career and I will win on Saturday. It will be a very difficult fight for both of us. The opponent is much younger and I will fight my way to the title. I want to stop him,” Wach said.
Elsewhere on Saturday’s bill, MTK Global teammates will collide as Kieron Conway goes up against Macaulay McGowan.
