Waseem Pumped For Pakistan Bout, Mama Leaves For Mthalane Clash

Muhammad Waseem is targeting a knockout win this weekend as he prepares to fight in Pakistan for the first time during his professional career.

Former world title challenger Waseem (10-1, 7 KOs) will go up against hard-hitting Jeny Boy Boca (14-6, 12 KOs) at the Governor House in Lahore on December 19.

It sees ‘The Falcon’ attempt to end the year in style by closing in on another world title shot, and he’s determined to put on a show for the fans.

Waseem said: “I’m really excited to fight in my home country. It’s my first fight in Pakistan and a big fight too, so I will enjoy it.

“I want to win this fight my knockout and then achieve big things next year. I am 100% confident that I will be the first world champion from my country.”

Waseem’s MTK Global stable-mate Mohammed Sameer is also set to compete on the card, as he looks to win the second fight of his professional career.

Sanman boxer Jayson Mama (W15 KO8 L0) has packed and departs today with his head trainer Ronerex Dalut for South Africa on December 14 for the biggest fight of his career.

Mama has been the given the chance to challenge South African world champion Moruti Mthalane (W39 KO26 L2) for the IBF world flyweight Title. The fight will take place in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa on December 20, 2020.

Mthalane is a seasoned veteran champion having and conquered the likes of Johnriel Casimero, Zolani Tete and Akira Yaegashi and Julio Cesar Miranda, all world champions. Experience will indeed be on his side but the youth and hunger will pretty much be the advantage of the Filipino challenger.

“I can’t wait to step in the ring with a great champion like Mthalane. It will be an honor to fight for a world title and represent my country. This is it, my greatest moment. I trained so hard for this and will not let this opportunity slip away. Please pray for my success. I have my part in the gym. I know God will do the rest,” Mama stated.
