2. SUGAR RAY ROBINSON vs GENE FULLMER II

ROBINSON spent the four months between losing his world middleweight title to Fullmer and the rematch putting together what was known as ‘Operation Left Hook.’
He noticed that when Fullmer launched a right hook to the body, he left himself open to a left hook.
“I feinted a left hook, leaving my midsection open,” wrote Robinson in his autobiography of the fifth-round ending. “He let go his right hand, exposing his jaw. Snapping a left hook with all my strength, I nailed him as he moved toward me, adding to the impact.”
The press called it ‘The Perfect Punch.’
