We ask a panel of experts how they see Miguel Berchelt vs Oscar Valdez going

Carl Frampton
Two-weight world champion

I fancy Berchelt strongly in the fight. Valdez has shown a few weaknesses, certainly against Adam Lopez when he fought on the same card as me in Vegas. Canelo’s team are trying to change him, not as gung ho as he once was. But I think Berchelt is going to knock him out in about five or six.

Paul Smith
World title challenger

Berchelt can beat Valdez. I think the bigger man, more natural at the weight, having the advantage in most things will win the fight. I think the gameplan will go out the window. Two Mexicans won’t be able to help themselves! Can see Berchelt winning by late stoppage.

Natasha Jonas
London Olympian

Miguel Berchelt vs Oscar Valdez is a great fight. I think there could be an upset here and tip Valdez to win. But what a fight it will be.

Miguel Bercelt super-featherweight

Jamie Sanigar
Boxing manager

Two Mexican warriors in the prime of their careers makes for a potential fight of the year. I’m picking Berchelt by late stoppage using angles and downhill momentum with his punches to pick apart Valdez but not before going through fire being hurt by an improved Valdez.

Andy Clarke
Commentator

I’ll say Berchelt will win a really good, entertaining fight. I favour Berchelt because he’s been at super-feather for 10 years, whereas Valdez is still relatively new to the weight, and Berchelt’s last two stoppage wins vs Sosa and Vargas illustrate how destructive he still is. It’s a magnificent fight.
