Wilder trains on working the body leading into Fury trilogy fight

Fighting

As former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder readies himself for the ‘legal homicide’ he intends to commit against Tyson Fury when they meet for the third time on October 9, catch a glimpse inside of Wilder’s training camp as he works on some new combinations.

In this particular clip we get a chance to see Wilder do something we hardly ever see him do in an actual fight — work the body with some thudding combinations. By the looks of things Wilder isn’t the most natural body puncher out there, but the fact he’s diversifying his approach for this third meeting with Fury could potentially shake things up.

After having last lost to Tyson Fury in their February 2020 rematch, this fight has been a long time in the making as Wilder nears a nearly 18-month layoff. Wilder, of course, seems to firmly believe that this upcoming fight will shake out quite differently from the bashing we saw him take last time out, and should be plenty refreshed both physically and mentally for the heavyweight title rematch next month.
