Diego “Maravilla” Carmona of Mexico defeated Panamanian Alberto “Metralleta” Mosquera by technical knockout at the beginning of the seventh round and took the World Boxing Association (WBA) Fedecentro super welterweight Championship on EstrellaTV’s Boxeo EstrellaTV.

The series occurs on the last Friday of every month and is broadcast from Teatro Centenario Coyoacán, Mexico City.

Carmona’s corner changed strategy and released him with everything to the front, but launching blows from mid-range and long-distance put Mosquera in trouble, who tried to cut down the distance to avoid punishment.

However, Carmona pressed even more with up and down combinations, breaking down Mosquera, who was forced to tie up numerous times and cut the rhythm of the fight, which gave Carmona breaks.

At the end of the sixth round, a flurry of blows generated a cut to Mosquera on the right eyebrow.  When returning to his corner, Mosquera himself asked his manager to stop the fight, ending the match by technical knockout at the beginning of the seventh round.
