The Jose Pedraza-Richard Commey fight has a new site to go along with its new date.

BoxingScene.com has learned that the 10-round, 140-pound between Pedraza and Commey will headline an ESPN broadcast August 27 from Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Puerto Rico’s Pedraza, a former IBF junior lightweight and WBO lightweight champ, and Ghana’s Commey, an ex-IBF lightweight champion, were initially scheduled to square off July 23 at Grand Casino Hinckley in Hinckley, Minnesota.

The Pedraza-Commey fight was moved from July 23 to August 27 last week.

The original co-feature for July 23, Joet Gonzalez versus Isaac Dogboe, was elevated to the main event that night and still will take place at Grand Casino Hinckley. Gonzalez (25-2, 15 KOs), of Glendora, California, and Dogboe (23-2, 15 KOs), of Accra, Ghana, will square off in a 10-round featherweight fight.

The Gonzalez-Dogboe show will be carried in its entirety by ESPN+, the network’s streaming service.

The Pedraza-Commey contest will be one of at least two bouts broadcast on ESPN’s linear channel August 27. Heavyweight prospect Jared Anderson (11-0, 11 KOs), of Toledo, Ohio, is expected to participate in the 10-round co-feature that night, but his opponent hasn’t been secured.

The 33-year-old Pedraza (29-4, 14 KOs) will attempt to bounce back from a 12-round, unanimous-decision defeat to former WBC/WBO 140-pound champion Jose Ramirez in his last fight. Ramirez (27-1, 17 KOs), of Avenal, California, defeated Pedraza by the same score, 116-112, on all three cards March 4 at Save Mart Center in Fresno, California.

The 35-year-old Commey (30-4, 27 KOs) most recently lost a 12-round unanimous decision to Vasiliy Lomachenko on December 11 at Madison Square Garden in New York. Ukraine’s Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KOs), a three-division champion, dropped Commey in the seventh round and beat him by big margins on all three scorecards (119-108, 119-108, 117-110).

Commey will make his debut as a full-fledged junior welterweight when he opposes Pedraza.
