Benavidez-Angulo: Live coverage, 9 pm ET

Fighting

Tonight at 9 pm ET, Showtime Championship Boxing is back with a tripleheader from the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn., headlined by the return of David Benavidez, now a two-time former super middleweight titlist and still unbeaten.

Wil Esco will be on the coverage for tonight’s show, including round-by-round updates for the fights.

The big news for the card this week is that Benavidez missed weight and was stripped of his WBC super middleweight title on Friday, but the fight with Angulo will go on, and if Angulo pulls an upset (and it’d be a big upset) then he can go home with the belt, as he made weight.

The card will also feature Rolando Romero facing Jackson Marinez for a vacant interim WBA lightweight title that doesn’t need to exist, plus the return of heavyweight Otto Wallin against veteran Travis Kauffman.

Full Card (SHO, 9:00 pm ET)

  • David Benavidez (22-0, 19 KO) vs Roamer Alexis Angulo (26-1, 22 KO), super middleweights, 12 rounds
  • Rolando Romero (11-0, 10 KO) vs Jackson Marinez (19-0, 7 KO), lightweights, 12 rounds
  • Otto Wallin (20-1, 13 KO) vs Travis Kauffman (32-3, 23 KO), heavyweights, 10 rounds
