Boxing TV schedule for Sept. 2-6

Fighting

Wednesday, Sept. 2

ESPN+, 2:00 pm ET, Philip Bowes vs Akeem Ennis-Brown, Dan Azeez vs Andre Sterling. There will be more on this MTK card, which has Bowes defending the Commonwealth 140-pound title against Ennis-Brown in the main event, with the vacant British title also at stake. BLH will have live coverage.

Friday, Sept. 4

Telemundo, 11:35 pm ET, Boxeo Telemundo. Xander Zayas is scheduled for action, along with Nikoloz Sekhniashvili and others.

Saturday, Sept. 5

ESPN+, 7:30 pm ET, Jamel Herring vs Jonathan Oquendo, Steven Nelson vs DeAndre Ware. Two Brian McIntyre fighters in action in the top two fights. Jared Anderson is also scheduled for the card against veteran Rodney Hernandez. Herring is set for a third date to defend his WBO 130-pound title against Oquendo following two bubble cancellations in the early summer. Nelson is an intriguing would-be contender at 168. BLH will have live coverage.

Sunday, Sept. 6

FS1, 6:00 pm ET or 10:00 pm ET, Ugas-Ramos Prelims or Postlims. We’ll see if they do it pre or post this time, but we’ll be here either way. BLH will have live coverage.

ThompsonBoxing.com, 7:00 pm ET, Luis Lopez vs Saul Bustos. Thompson presents another streaming show, this one for free. Usually we’d watch, but obviously we’ve got a PBC show on at the same time and that simply takes precedence. But Thompson shows are always a nice time, with Beto Duran and Doug Fischer on commentary, Jessica Rosales as part of the crew, and the fights are generally well-matched. Here you’ve got a pair of unbeaten welterweights in the main event. The show will also stream on the Thompson Facebook and YouTube pages.

FOX, 8:00 pm ET, Yordenis Ugas vs Abel Ramos, Rances Barthelemy vs Alberto Puello. Ugas and Ramos are fighting for the vacant fake WBA welterweight title (Manny Pacquiao is the real WBA titleholder), and Barthelemy is fighting for some kind of fake WBA title at 140 against Puello. Ugas is a very good fighter and serious contender at 147 but not always a thrill to watch, and Barthelemy can be poisonous to watch. BUT! They’re both real fighters — and Ramos and Puello certainly aren’t bad fighters — and this is a real show on the biggest network that carries boxing, so we’ll obviously be here. BLH will have live coverage.
