WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol is looking for the biggest fights possible in his weight class.
Besides the big names in his weight class, Bivol would not rule out the possibility of facing someone like unbeaten contender Joshua Buatsi, who later today will face Marko Calic in the UK.
Buatsi has a number three ranking under the WBA.
“Good boxer, if it made sense and the fans want to see this fight, I am always open to fighting anybody,” Bivol told Sky Sports.
Bivol has beaten several of the top fighters in the weight class – like Joe Smith and Jean Pascal.
Two of the biggest names he would like to fight – are WBC/IBF champion Artur Beterbiev and Mexican superstar Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.
Beterbive is going to make a voluntary defense of his world title in the month of December, while the next fight for Canelo is still unknown while he goes through a legal battler with DAZN and Golden Boy Promotions.
“One of the bigger fights where two top Russian world champions would decide who is the best,” Bivol said.
“Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez is one of the options that has been brought up to us and I would be interested in the fight. There are many other options that are not less meaningful to me than fighting Canelo.
“My goal is to unify all of the world titles in the light-heavyweight division. I am hoping that fights with Beterbiev and the future WBO champion will materialise in the next couple of years as well. I am also interested in fighting the top boxers in my division as well as in the 168lbs (super-middleweight) weight class including ?arcus Browne, Badou Jack, David Benavidez, and others.”
