Former world champion Kell Brook has rejected the idea of retirement in the immediate future.
Last weekend, the 35-year-old veteran picked up the biggest win of his career when he stopped longtime rival Amir Khan in the sixth round of a one-sided fight in Manchester.
“I’m a fighter, I love to fight, I didn’t have a mark on me in that last fight,’ Brook said to BOXXER.
“I’m ready to go again, so show me the money baby.”
Since the win, Brook has once again become a hot item – with numerous fighters calling him out.
There are two domestic options that are very lucrative for him – like Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr. In the United States, former world champions like Keith Thurman and Danny Garcia are reportedly interested.
Brook, who is still buzzing from the big win, is mulling his next move in the ring.
“I’m still on cloud nine, I’m absolutely buzzing, it was a masterclass performance. The atmosphere, the occasion, it was brilliant. To be expected, I put that pressure on myself, I know I was going to deliver,” Brook said.
‘It’s been a long time coming, he has never wanted to fight me, but I’ve got to take my hat off to him as he took some good shots and he never quit in there. He kept trying to hold on and get through it, so the respect is there now that we’ve shared the ring together.”
Khan has a few weeks to active a rematch clause – but it’s very unlikely he will do so. Once he officially walks from the option of doing a rematch, Brook can freely negotiate with potential opponents.
