This week’s panellists were asked to pick a winner in Saturday’s women’s superfight between Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall

Jane Couch (Women’s boxing pioneer)

It’s a really hard one. I’ll go with Savannah, though, just because she’s got the power and also everyone in attendance will want her to win. I think she’ll go for the stoppage, but that could be her emotion coming into play. Claressa has been on the big stage in America and Savannah, although she’s had a few big fights, hasn’t been there yet. But I think she’ll be fine.

Nicola Hopewell (Super-flyweight prospect)

I see Savannah Marshall winning by late stoppage. I think both fighters are great. Shields is slick and experienced but, if Marshall can catch her, I think she can break her down with her power over the rounds.

Chantelle Cameron (WBC and IBF super-lightweight champion)

It’s a brilliant fight. I think it’s going to be tricky the first few rounds but then I think Savannah will start landing the heavier shots and win the fight. Obviously I’m a bit biased because Savannah’s my mate, but, if she lands clean, her power is so great, and she’s so relaxed with it, I can’t see many women standing up to it.

Amy Timlin (European super-bantamweight title challenger)

Obviously I want Savannah to win and I think she will, too. She needs to be careful with Claressa boxing on her back foot, as she is very tricky, but I do think Savannah will in the end win.
